Doug Liman Will Direct DC’s ‘Dark Universe’, Drops Out of ‘Gambit’

It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything on Warner Bros.Justice League Dark film, titled Dark Universe. Guillermo del Toro was attached to direct for a few years, but he eventually dropped out. Since then, we’ve heard a slew of director and casting rumors for the DC movie. In the meantime, an animated movie starring the supernatural team was announced for a 2017 release.

It is truly amazing just how long the X-Men franchise has been going without a full-on reboot. Beginning in 2000, 20th Century Fox‘s saga consists of the original trilogy, the First Class era, Deadpool and two Wolverine movies. (The less we talk about the first Wolverine, the better.) The ninth installment of the franchise, X-Men: Apocalypse, is now here, concluding the First Class trilogy.
