Doug Liman Will Direct DC’s ‘Dark Universe’, Drops Out of ‘Gambit’


It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything on Warner Bros.Justice League Dark film, titled Dark Universe. Guillermo del Toro was attached to direct for a few years, but he eventually dropped out. Since then, we’ve heard a slew of director and casting rumors for the DC movie. In the meantime, an animated movie starring the supernatural team was announced for a 2017 release.

This week has seen plenty of casting rumors for Justice League Dark/Dark Universe, with actors such as Colin Farrell, Monica Belluci, Ron Perlman and Ben Mendelsohn being linked to the DC Comics adaptation. Potential Casting Details for ‘Justice League Dark’; Colin Farrell Frontrunner to Play Constantine?


Even though director Guillermo del Toro recently dropped out, Warner Bros. is moving full-speed ahead with the Justice League Dark movie, tentatively titled Dark Universe. Last we heard, the DC adaptation was looking to begin production sometime next year, even though a new director has yet to be hired.

And now, we have a slew of casting rumors for the lead characters, courtesy of Latino-Review. Currently, Dark Universe is set to feature John Constantine, Zatanna, Deadman, Swamp Thing, Etrigan the Demon and Madame Xanadu. Who is WB looking at to play these characters?
