20th Century Fox has made a few adjustments to its 2018 film schedule. Among these are new release dates for Shane Black‘s new Predator movie and two untitled Marvel films. Also, the studio has set a date for the James Cameron-produced Alita: Battle Angel. You can find out the exact release dates after the jump.
- The Predator, a new sequel in the science fiction horror franchise, will now hit theaters on February 9th, 2018. This is almost a full month earlier than its original March 2nd date. The movie, described as an event film, will now go head-to-head with Fifty Shades Freed on this date. Shane Black is directing from a script by him and Fred Dekker.
- Fox had previously scheduled two untitled Marvel films for 2018. The first movie has moved from January 12th to March 2nd, 2018, while the second film has moved from July 13th to June 29th, 2018. These movies could be anything from New Mutants to Deadpool 2 to X-Force. Expect some official titles to be announced soon.
- While he is no longer directing, the James Cameron-produced adaptation of Alita: Battle Angel is finally moving forward. The film, directed by Robert Rodriguez, is set to hit theaters on July 20th, 2018. The movie is based on the manga series of the same name. Actress Rosa Salazar was recently cast in the title role.
