Last month, it was reported that star Dylan O’Brien was injured on the set of Maze Runner: The Death Cure, causing production to be delayed. At that time, it was unknown how long the film would be delayed and how severe the injuries were for O’Brien. Now, it appears that things could be worse than we all believed.
THR has revealed that O’Brien’s injuries are much more severe than originally believed. However, it is still unknown what the actual injuries are. O’Brien’s publicist briefly made a statement, saying “His injuries are very serious, and he needs more time to recover.”
The film was originally supposed to resume production on May 9th but now there is no date set for resumption. Twentieth Century Fox released this statement: “The resumption of principal photography on Maze Runner: The Death Cure has been further delayed to allow Dylan O’Brien more time to fully recover from his injuries. We wish Dylan a speedy recovery and look forward to restarting production as soon as possible.”
The Maze Runner: The Death Cure is still set for a February 17th, 2017 release date but it will most likely get pushed back due to this recent news.
