Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 has been filming for quite a while now and while the official cast list was revealed, it appears that some big names not on that list are in the film as well. First, we saw set photos that revealed that Sylvester Stallone may have a role in the sequel. Now, more set photos have confirmed another actor’s involvement.
A local in Georgia took photos of the set of the upcoming Marvel film which is odd because it appears that the scene will take place on Earth. On this street set, the photos revealed the “Simon Williams Film Festival” with posters for Williams’ films present. The interesting part is that Simon Williams is the fictional character known as Wonder-Man and Firefly star Nathan Fillion appears to be playing him.
This scene in the film is definitely not a flashback given that Fillion’s Williams is playing Tony Stark aka Iron Man in a biopic so it must take place in the present day. Does that mean that the Guardians are coming to Earth?
If you don’t know, Wonder-Man is a character who has superpowers but is too afraid of death to use them, so he does the only logical thing: become an actor. It is unknown if Fillion’s role is just a cameo (like his one in the first GOTG) or if we will actually see him suit up as Wonder-Man but nonetheless, this is a very cool idea to put in Guardians 2.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 hits theaters on May 5, 2017.
