Rumor: ‘Tomb Raider’ Reboot is Warner Bros.’ Untitled 2017 Event Film

This week, Warner Bros. scheduled an “Untitled WB Event Film” for release on October 6th, 2017. Fans have been speculating what this movie could be. It probably wasn’t a DC film, otherwise it would’ve been specified. Same with an animated project such as LEGO, another franchise that WB will emphasize on in the near future. Now, a new rumor apparently reveals what movie it is.

According to Heroic Hollywood, WB’s 2017 event film is none other than the Tomb Raider reboot. The movie, a new take on the acclaimed video game franchise, is said to be titled The Tomb Raider. In fact, WB has already registered a domain name for the title.

Last year, Roar Uthaug was hired to direct The Tomb Raider. The titular role hasn’t been cast yet, but most recently, Star Wars actress Daisy Ridley is/was being considered to play Lara Croft. Expect an official announcement to be made soon.
