20th Century Fox is getting ready to shoot the untitled third Wolverine movie, which will mark Hugh Jackman‘s final performance as the X-Man. Patrick Stewart will co-star as Professor X, while James Mangold returns to direct. Now, the sequel has begun casting new characters, and it looks like we have our main antagonist.
According to Deadline, Narcos alum Boyd Holbrook will play the currently-unnamed villain in Wolverine 3. He will play the head of security for a global enterprise who is against, well, Wolverine. The character is described as “relentless, calculating and intense.” Additionally, The Wrap adds that Holbrook is playing an original character, rather than one from the comics.
Wolverine 3, which is targeting an R rating, is expected to begin production in May. The film is set to hit theaters on March 3rd, 2017. Stay tuned for more news as we have it.
