The search for an actor to portray that iconic character Han Solo has been a large and complicated endeavor. Over 2,500 actors were considered for the role of the famous scoundrel. Now, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Disney and LucasFilm have shortened their list of actors who could possibly wear the vest.
Their sources are claiming that last weekend, actors Alden Ehrenreich (Hail, Caesar!), Jack Reynor (Transformers: Age of Extinction), and Taron Egerton (Kingsman: The Secret Service) were tested for the role.
THR is also claiming that other names are being considered but because it is Star Wars, it is all kept highly under wrap. However, they claim that Emory Cohen from Brooklyn and actors from Richard Linklater’s Everybody Wants Some have also been subjects of interest.
The Young Han Solo film has a release date of May 25, 2018 and will be directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller.
