It was previously revealed that Justice League Part One, the long-awaited superhero ensemble film, will finally begin production in April. Now, Warner Bros. Pictures has confirmed this to Entertainment Weekly with an exact start date.

According to EW, Justice League will begin shooting on April 11th, a couple weeks after the March 25th release of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Prep for production is currently underway in the UK. Justice League will film at Warner Bros.’ Leavesden Studios in England, as well as other locations around London and in Iceland.

Director Zack Snyder had this to say about the news and the creation of a Justice League movie. “The idea that we could begin to boot up a Justice League concept was a cool thing. It was a little bit of an ‘about time’ moment, and I don’t blame [the studio] for feeling that way, because it’s a long time coming. But I do feel like it’s a little bit of a creative hurdle. It seems like an easy thing to do at first glance, the idea that, ‘Oh, we just get the rest of the superheroes in there.’ But you have to [establish] a world where they can exist.” He adds,“The studio really wants us to try and pace it up, as far as —now we have an idea where we’re going.”

Justice League will star Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, and Amy Adams as Lois Lane; all reprising their roles from prior DC films. Amber Heard is in negotiations to play Mera in this movie, while other characters, such as Green Lantern and the unknown villain, have yet to be cast.

Justice League Part One is set to hit theaters on November 17th, 2017. Stay tuned for more news as we have it.
