Casting is now underway on Ridley Scott‘s follow-up to Prometheus, titled Alien: Covenant. Michael Fassbender will return from the first movie, while Katherine Waterston will serve as the new female lead. Now, the sequel is about to add a potentially surprising new player to its cast.
According to The Wrap, Eastbound and Down actor Danny McBride is in early negotiations to join the cast of Alien: Covenant. No details on his potential role are known, except he has a chance to show off his acting range beyond his typical comedic style.
Alien: Covenant is set to begin filming early this year for an October 6th, 2017 release. It is expected to spawn a new Alien trilogy, further connecting Prometheus to the acclaimed original film. Stay tuned for more news as we have it.
