Rumor: Nicole Kidman in Talks to Join Gal Gadot in ‘Wonder Woman’

If all is on schedule, sometime in the next few days Patty Jenkins will call action on Wonder Woman starring Gal Gadot and Chris Pine. The highly anticipated superhero film has been filled with rumors of plot and castings recently but it seems we may finally have one that has some traction. According to The Wrap one of the other actors on set may be Academy Award winning actress Nicole Kidman.

As is becoming the norm with the DC Extended Universe, the production is shrouded in secrecy even as filming is about to begin. Beyond director Patty Jenkins, Gadot and Pine and some possible filming locations we know almost nothing. Not long ago there were rumors that Eva Green and Sean Bean were being looked at for villain roles and last week there was a rumor that plot information had leaked but there has been very little hard evidence.

If she joins the cast, Kidman brings a strong resume. She’s been on screen since the mid-eighties and with starring roles in films such as: Days of Thunder, The Hours (Where she earned her Oscar) and Moulin Rouge! she has long since cemented a great reputation as an actress. Most recently, she was in The Family Fang with Christopher Walken and directed by Jason Bateman.

If the rumors are true, this will be Kidman’s second DC Film as she played “Dr. Chase Meridian” opposite Val Kilmer in Batman Forever.

While there is no word on what role she will be playing, the Wrap claims it is as a “High Ranking Amazon Warrior” which could mean she is up for the role of Diana’s mother, Queen Hippolyta. Come back to Not Yet Rated for more Wonder Woman information as it comes.
