‘Anomalisa’ Trailer: Charlie Kaufman’s Stop-Motion Film Questions our Existence

Charlie Kaufman (Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind, Adaptation, Synecdoche, New York) and Duke Johnson (Moral Orel) have teamed up to have us question our existence. Anomalisa is Charlie Kaufman’s first stop-motion animated film that follows a celebrated motivational speaker traveling the country, changing the lives of others. But while doing so his life becomes hollow and meaningless. It’s a grey and monotonous existence where people literally look and sound identical. Until one special woman comes into his life, filling him with such a rush of “aliveness”, he’s willing to abandon everything and everyone, including his family, and escape with her to a better life. Check out the trailer below.

Anomalisa is in select theaters December 30, 2015 and everywhere in January 2016.
