Rebecca Ferguson opened a lot of eyes for her role in the latest ‘Mission Impossible’ installment, Rogue Nation, as her performance as the force-to-be-reckoned-with Ilsa Faust impressed critics, moviegoers, and men (like me). Since her appearance in ‘MI 5’, she’s already landed a role in the adaptation of the bestselling novel The Girl on the Train, and has even been rumored to be one of the frontrunners to play Captain Marvel in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Now, she’s in talks to join Academy Award nominee Michael Fassbender in The Snowman.
The Snowman, an adaptation of one of Jo Nesbø’s best-selling Harry Hole novels, will be helmed by Tinker Tailor Solider Spy and Let the Right One In director Tomas Alfredson, with Matthew Michael Carnahan (World War Z) writing the script. The plot centers around the detective Harry Hole who “investigates the disappearance of a woman whose pink scarf is found wrapped around an ominous-looking snowman.”
Whether or not Ferguson does wind up getting a role in the film, The Snowman certainly has a lot of intrigue surrounding it. With one of the best actors working today in Fassbender already on board, along with a highly-respected director set to direct, this crime drama could be one to look forward to once it comes out sometime in 2017. I’m hyped already, but if Ferguson joins the cast, then yeah, take my money The Snowman.
